“Special needs” means many things. It is important for students to
understand basic information about this complex issue, as the number
of students with disabilities is on the rise. This series contains unique
books that combine factual, scientific information with fictional
stories and characters that bring to life the struggles, challenges
and triumphs of youth with special needs. Readers will learn what it
is like to live with these health conditions, as well as types of services
available to help all children meet their greatest potential.
Students will:
- Walk away with a deeper understanding of many conditions
- Have an awareness of associated emotional impacts of affected children, families, and peers
- Be encouraged to have further discussions
